Stick it to the man and make it to Broadway in a Tony-nominated musical.
The search is on for replacements for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “School of Rock,” based on the film of the same name in which an overly enthusiastic guitarist gets thrown out of his rock band and poses as a substitute private elementary school teacher, exposing his students to the rock gods he idolizes. The current casting is for both Broadway replacements and touring productions.
Young actors, aged 8–12, are wanted to play the kids of Horace Green. Girls who can play the bass and boys who can play guitar, piano, and/or drums are especially wanted at this time. All talent must be under 5’ tall.
The lead role of Dewey Finn is also available for a male actor, aged 20–40, who has at least some basic guitar skills.
There will be an open casting call on April 14 in Los Angeles. Selected actors will be paid under either an Equity Production or Equity Seta Category 1 contract.
