Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying.
Sitcom “Manny” is about a male nanny and his clients. The team is putting together a promo of their material and casting three parts, including opportunities for child actors.
Edward, for a male actor, aged 8–14, is a bright, young kid. He’s way ahead of his classmates and thinks homework is a game. He’s quick-witted, and even if he can come across as cocky now and then, he’s got a heart of gold. Olivia, for a female actor, aged 6–12, is the opposite of her brother Edward. She’s creative, dyslexic, and even though she’s got a temper, she’s ultimately a nice girl. If you’ve got a youngster who can play a whiz kid or a little girl who can unleash her anger, as well as do the opposite, these roles could be for them.
Karen, for female talent, aged 30–45, is an assertive woman. She holds people to high standards, is a tyrant at work, and is pretty much the same at home with her kids and manny. She’s got a softer side, too, but you’ll just rarely see it.
All roles are for black or mixed race performers. Shooting will take place in London in February, likely on a weekend, and roles are paid £50 for a six-hour day, plus expenses for a chaperone within London.
